A Burn Ban has been issued on all outside open
burning within the City. This ban will be in effect till March
28, 2008. Record
rainfall this past summer brought welcomed relief from last year’s
drought.
The green vegetation that worked to our advantage over
the summer represents an increased fire load this winter and early
spring; and there is a direct correlation between fuel loading
and fire intensity. Linked with low humidity and high winds, you
have a tender box.
There will be no Burn Permits issued during
this ban timeframe for any reason. The maximum fine for the violation
of the burn ban in the City of Glenn Heights is $2,000.00. |
