The City of Glenn Heights recognizes and is committed to
a Mission of serving the public interest, advancing the quality of life
for all citizens and preserving our small town atmosphere by embracing
diversity and family values.
In recognition of African-American History Month, the Honorable
Mayor Victor Pereira invited Glenn Heights students to participate
in the
2nd Annual Mayor’s Essay Contest by submitting original essays, passages
or poems detailing “What Diversity Means in My Community.”
The contest was open to all Glenn Heights, Texas residents enrolled
in grades 3rd – 8th grade during the current school year. Each
finalist will receive a $50.00 U.S. Savings Bond and special recognition
from the Mayor and City Council.
