On this the 11th day of August 2008 the City Council of the City of Glenn Heights met in a special meeting at the Glenn Heights City Hall in Glenn Heights, Texas located at 1938 S. Hampton Road with the following members present:

Kathy Dixon * Mayor Pro Tem
Mary Ann Chancellor * Council Member

ABSENT: Clark Choate * Mayor

Mayor Pro Tem Dixon called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.
INVOCATION: Councilwoman Mary Ann Chancellor
1. Consider and Discuss the 2008 Proposed Tax Rate and take a Record Vote on the 2008 proposed tax rate.
Patrick Harvey, Director of Finance briefed the Council on the proposed ad valorem tax rate for FY 2008/2009. The 2008 Effective and Rollback Tax Rate Notice that was published in the Focus Newspaper, Friday August 8, 2008.
The FY 2008-09 Proposed Annual Program of Service is built on the ad valorem proposed tax rate of 0.69436/$100.

Councilman Harvey moved to approve the proposed ad valorem tax rate of $0.69436/$100. Councilman Freeman made the second. The motion carried with the following vote:
VOTE: 5 Ayes - Holley, Freeman, Dixon, Chancellor, and Harvey
2 Absent - Choate and Pereira
2. ADJOURNMENT.
Mayor Pro Tem Dixon adjourned the meeting at 7:41 p.m.
