MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING
OF THE CITY OF GLENN HEIGHTS, TEXAS
November 4, 2008

CITY OF GLENN HEIGHTS *
On this the 4th day of November 2008 the City Council of the City of Glenn Heights met in a special meeting at the Glenn Heights City Hall in Glenn Heights, Texas located at 1938 S. Hampton Road with the following members present:
CITY COUNCIL:
Clark Choate * Mayor
Dan Freeman * Council Member
Mary Ann Chancellor * Council Member
Chance Harvey * Council Member
Victor Pereira * Council Member
STAFF: Jacqueline Lee * Director of Human Resources
ABSENT: Malinda Holley * Council Member Kathy Dixon * Mayor Pro Tem
Mayor Choate called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
INVOCATION: Councilwoman Chancellor gave the invocation.
1. Discuss and consider accepting the resignation of Council Member Malinda Holley.
Councilman Freeman moved to accept the Resignation of Malinda Holley effective immediately. Councilman Harvey made the second. The motion carried with the following vote:
VOTE: 5 Ayes - Freeman, Choate, Chancellor, Harvey, and Pereira
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
CLOSED MEETING PURSUANT TO CHAPTER §551. TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE V.T.C.S. (OPEN MEETINGS LAW), IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AUTHORITY CONTAINED IN SECTION §551.071 LEGAL, SECTION §551.072 REAL ESTATE AND SECTION §551.074 PERSONNEL.
Pursuant to Sec. §551.074, Local Government Code, regarding Personnel - to interview applicants for employment as City Manager.
Councilman Pereira moved to go into closed meeting pursuant to Section 551.074, Personnel. Councilman Harvey made the second. The motion carried with the following vote:
VOTE: 5 Ayes - Freeman, Choate, Chancellor, Harvey, and Pereira
The City Council convened into Closed Session at 7:15 p.m.
Councilman Pereira moved to come out of Closed Session. Councilman Freeman made the second. The motion carried with the following vote:
VOTE: 5 Ayes - Freeman, Choate, Chancellor, Harvey, and Pereira
Mayor Choate called the meeting back to order at 9:15 p.m.
3. Consider any Official Action as a result of the Executive Session.
Councilman Harvey moved to make a formal offer to Jacqueline Lee, the current Director of Human Resources, to accept the position of City Manager based on a contract negotiated between the City's Attorney and Mrs. Lee and direct staff to post a special agenda for November 10 to discuss the City Manager position. Councilman Freeman made the second. The motion carried with the following vote:
VOTE: 5 Ayes - Freeman, Choate, Chancellor, Harvey, and Pereira
4. ADJOURNMENT.
Councilman Pereira moved to adjourn. Councilman Freeman made the second. The motion carried with the following vote:
VOTE: 5 Ayes - Freeman, Choate, Chancellor, Harvey, and Pereira
Mayor Choate adjourned the meeting at 9:29 p.m.
